Modern concerns about hygiene may actually be harmful to health as several studies show.Taking a shower daily and rinse thoroughly after brushing your teeth is part of a list of seven habits which physicians considered unhealthy.
1.Making a shower daily.
"There are people who wash too much,"says Dr Nick Lowe, specializing in dermatology at the Cranley Clinic in London. He claims that the jet of hot water and soap destroy excess skin and cause infection or even dry them. "While the idea of skip terrifies you shower daily, then use the water even colder. For those with dry skin, it is recommended to use an emollient shower gel, soap-free, " Nick Lowe.
2. Sleep eight hours a day.
A peaceful sleep at least eight hours every night. This is the modern recipe healthy sleep. It proves false, however. An eight-hour uninterrupted sleep can make you feel more tired than if you sleep less, says Professor Jim Horne of the Sleep Research Centre at Loughborough University (UK). He argues that we must have a flexible schedule and fragmented sleep.
Prove true benefits for a nap, even 15 minutes during the day. Jim Horne gives the example of those who lived hundreds of years ago and slept two hours before dinner, then went to bed just after midnight and slept only three to four hours.
3.Intensive rinse after washing teeth.
Get rid of your obsession to rinse well after you brush your teeth, says Dr Phil Stemmer of a specialized institute in London. He argues that this usually leads to removal of the protective layer left by the toothpaste. "I avoid drinking liquids to at least half an hour after I brush my teeth. Not even wet the toothbrush before putting the pasta, "says the doctor.
4. To sit on the toilet more than usual
Modern toilets are harmful to health, says a study published by researchers in Israel. A squat is a more natural position than sitting on a stool and reduce the risk of conditions such as hemorrhoids, research shows. Charles Murray and the British doctor advises those who have bowel problems something to put under your feet when you sit on the toilet than to reproduce the crouching position of the state.
5. Daily cleaning.
It may be the perfect excuse to get rid of household chores, but proves to be true - do excessive cleaning can damage health. A U.S. study has shown that people who take the biggest responsibility in the household chores are more likely to increase tension. In addition, inhalation of fumes from cleaning products can cause lung or airway inflammation.
